The Roller Derby is shaping up.  It will be part Roller Derby and Part 
Roller Disco so don't worry if you are a contact sport person. 

Roomers are that we might even have a live camera on one of the skaters 
heads that will show live projections on the surrounding walls.  We plan 
to have 3+ projectors.  Finally video projectors are becoming affordable.

Everyone will get a number safety pinned to them.  The numbers will be 
two/three different colors to split everyone up into two or three 
teams.  We will have some relay races, dance competition and such.

TIPS
-Thrift stores and garage sales are full of roller skates and roller 
blades.  So many people buy them and only use them a few times.  For $10 
dollas you can easily by a pair of $200 blades.
-If you cannot skate do not worry come anyways.  We still need people to 
for judges, referees, MCs, DJs, carrying the stretchers, applying first 
aid, making padding and serving cocktails.
-Don't dress to impress.  Dress warm but wear old clothes so you can be 
stenciled, tagged and we can tape padding to you.  Basically the padding 
will be your costume.  We might even award prizes for the team that is 
the most padded.
-Speaking of padding bring as much foam cushion, bubble wrap, egg 
cartons, duct tape, and other materials that will be useful in making 
elbow, knee pads, butt & face pads, etc.
-The official derby starts at 9PM but you can get there early to help 
set up, register skaters and skate.
